FFL-Haiti was fortunate to come in contact with a group of 10 North American volunteers that met us through a friend of Food For Life. The volunteers assisted the process of preparing meals by cutting vegetables, cooking rice and beans and finally the distribution of Pure Vegan meals.
These volunteers committed the remainder of their stay here in Port au Prince to the efforts to help Food For Life.

Appreciation of our service
Children are a very good indicator of appreciation when they are receiving a wholesome vegan meal each day. The children have come to like these vegan meals so much that they greet our distribution party with dancing and singing.

FFL Global is still working on establishing connections with other agencies as well as an operations base in Santo Domingo. Vegan meals are currently being distributed in the local hospital. There are so many Haitian refugees in Santo Domingo that the local hospitals and humanitarian aid agencies are unable to take care of the overload, so FFLG volunteers have stepped in to help. More reports coming soon…

The first wave of International Food for Life Global volunteers is set to arrive in Santo Domingo today to join the local FFL staff in finalizing setup for our vegan food relief base camp. The first order of business is to establish working relationships with other relief agencies and the military to create the most secure, efficient service possible.
